Welcome to London

Dear colleagues and friends,

Welcome to London!

On behalf of the organising committee, it is our great pleasure to invite you to London, the birthplace of epidemiology, for the 2026 SVEPM conference.

London is a global hub for science, education, and policy, making it the perfect setting for our conference. From the leafy squares of Bloomsbury, steeped in literary and academic history, to Soho, the electric heart of London, buzzing with neon-lit nightlife, eclectic restaurants, and a creative energy that never sleeps, London’s diverse cultural scene, historic landmarks, and vibrant culinary offerings make it welcoming destination for all. As one famous Peruvian immigrant put it:

In London, everyone is different, and that means anyone can fit in.” – Paddington Bear

Bloomsbury will be our main location with the conference venue, the gala dinner and the young scientist event, all within easy reach. This charming area of London is bursting with treasures to explore, from the world-famous British Museum with its awe-inspiring collections, to the hidden gardens that give the area its charm. With its mix of culture, history, and tranquil green spaces, Bloomsbury invites visitors to wander, discover, and be inspired at every turn. Its central location also makes it the perfect base to explore the many other areas of London, taking advantage of the city’s excellent transportation links.

In particular, we invite you to re-connect with your long-time colleagues and friends, make new acquaintances and expand your network and knowledge in the field of veterinary epidemiology.

We can’t wait to welcome you to London and SVEPM 2026!

On behalf of the local organising committee,

Lucy Brunton (RVC) & Emma Snary (APHA)
